East to the West, Chika Forbess offers a holistic approach for body, mind and spirit. The ancient technique of "laying on of hands" has existed in some form within every culture
on earth, and is one of the oldest methods of healing known to humankind. The people of Japan have a long association with
healing remedies based on the plentitude of nature. Their innate sensibilities of simplicity and order have flowered into
the art of Reiki healing. Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a technique
for whole body/mind/spirit healing formulated by Mikao Usui Sensei in 1922 in Japan. It
is performed by a highly trained practitioner, in a noninvasive method of "laying on of hands." The healer becomes
a passageway through which the healing energy, existing naturally in the universe, seeks the source of illness or discomfort
and applies itself to where it is most needed.
Counting Life is located in Castle Rock, Colorado, USA. I go to
Japan four
times a year, working for two weeks.
